Grade 3
This is the type of lock used by most builders for new homes and contractors for new businesses. Locks are often the last item in construction and a quick way to get back on budget is to use cheap locks.
They may look the same as the other grades of locks but they offer little protection against burglary and may fall apart on doors with heavy use.
Grade 2
Spadina Security recommends a minimum of a grade 2 lock on all exterior doors. This lock offers many burglary prevention features found in a grade one lock.
Grade 1
This grade is usually specified by architechs for commercial projects.
It is built from strong materials to stand up to physical attack and heavy use.
Grade 1 UL 437
Brands like Mul-T-Lock offer these additional security features like key copy protection, pick and drill resistancy.
Grade 1 UL 437 Cliq
The ultimate in security. Access control features added to the Mul-T-Lock deadbolt. Timed access, audit trail, lock out lost keys.
